The volumes are uniformly bound in deep red or maroon cloth, featuring an embossed decorative emblem resembling a stylized crest or eagle on the front covers. Six of the volumes are titled ‘The First Year of War in Pictures,’ ‘The Second Year of War in Pictures,’ ‘The Third Year of War in Pictures,’ ‘The Fourth Year of War in Pictures,’ ‘The Fifth Year of War in Pictures,’ and ‘The Sixth Year of War in Pictures.’ The seventh volume shares the same binding style, but its spine text is largely obscured.
