A traditional cast iron fireplace grate or fire basket, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, consistent with Victorian and Art Nouveau styles. The item features a sturdy, slatted construction designed to hold fuel, supported by four solid feet. Two upright supports on either end are each topped with a decorative fleur-de-lis finial. The grate is uniformly made of cast iron.
