This lot comprises two commemorative ceramic plates. The first plate features a blue and white transferware design, centrally depicting a figure with “CITY OF SHEFFIELD” and surrounded by various Sheffield landmarks, including the Town Hall and University, all enclosed within a rose border. The reverse of this plate is marked “SPECIALLY COMMISSIONED BY The Star TELEGRAPH Gazette” and “MADE IN ENGLAND BY CHADWICK LONGPORT T”. The second plate is white, celebrating “SHEFFIELD UNITED F.C. DIV. IV CHAMPIONS 1981-82” with prominent red text and a central black and white photograph of a football team.
