Description
A King Werk ‘Hunters Joy’ Fox Handle Beer Stein. This lidded ceramic or stoneware stein features a vibrant polychrome glazed relief decoration depicting a forest hunting scene with deer. The handle is sculpted to resemble a fox, wrapping around the body. Along the base of the body, the German phrase “JÄGER’S FREUD” (Hunter’s Joy/Pleasure) is prominently embossed. It is fitted with an aged metal hinged lid, likely pewter. The underside of the stein bears impressed markings such as “619,” “7,” “IP,” “6,” “70,” and “KING” (inverted), along with a circular sticker stating “Original Handmalerei Handarbeit” (Original Hand-painting Handmade) by “KING” from “AUSTRIA.”
