A lot comprising six modern British bimetallic two-pound (£2) commemorative coins, each featuring a gold-colored outer ring and a silver-colored inner core. All coins bear a profile effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on one side, inscribed “ELIZABETH II D G REG F D” (Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor – By the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith) and various dates spanning from 2008 to 2015. The reverse sides display distinct commemorative designs and associated inscriptions, including: a 2009 “DARWIN” coin depicting Charles Darwin; a 2007 “1707 1907” coin with a thistly design and the Latin motto “NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT” (No one provokes me with impunity), commemorating the Union of the Crowns; a 2011 coin commemorating the 500th Anniversary of the maiden voyage of the Mary Rose, depicting the ship; a 2013 coin with a female figure and the inscription “YOUR COURAGE YOUR CHEERFULNESS YOUR RESOLUTION WILL BRING US VICTORY”, commemorating the First World War; a 2014 coin commemorating “THE FIRST WORLD WAR 1914-1918” with a battleship; and a 2013 “LONDON UNDERGROUND 1863 2013” coin depicting a train carriage.
