A pair of Chinese polychrome enamel decorated porcelain vases, early 20th Century. Each vase exhibits a traditional Chinese-inspired form with flared rims, broad shoulders tapering to a constricted neck, and a globular body widening to a slightly flared foot. The vibrant cobalt blue ground is richly decorated with polychrome enamel, depicting an intricate scene of various birds, notably pheasants, perched amidst blossoming trees and large peony flowers. The color palette includes prominent reds, pinks, yellows, greens, and light blues. The interior rim is white, contrasting with the exterior decoration. Decorative bands of stylized leaves and geometric patterns encircle the neck and foot. No manufacturer’s marks or period indicators are discernible.
Height: Approximately 30 cm (12 inches) each.
