Buyer's premium:

A group of five Japanese decorative items, crafted in the distinctive ‘The Art of Chokin’ style. Each piece is made from white porcelain or ceramic, featuring 24 KT gold edging and detailed metal engravings, chased with gold and silver. The engravings depict traditional Japanese landscapes with pagodas, boats, and mountains. The group comprises a lidded urn, a tall cylindrical vase, a spherical vase, a small decorative plate on a stand, and a lidded trinket box. The lid of the trinket box displays an image of a figure alongside the Japanese text ‘天下泰平’ (Tenka Taihei), which translates to ‘peace and tranquility throughout the land’ or ‘peace under heaven’. The base of one item is inscribed with ‘THE ART OF CHOKIN’, detailing that ‘Metal engravings from Japan are created by the ancient art of Chokin. Chased with gold and silver, the engravings were originally created to decorate the armament of the SAMURAI warriors. 24 KT GOLD EDGED Made in Japan’.
