A WWI British Army Brass Button Polishing Stick, crafted from a flat, elongated, and irregularly shaped piece of brass or similar copper alloy. The object features a lengthwise open slot that divides it into two distinct sections. The wider section is characterized by a distinctive wavy edge with six alternating concave and convex curves, and two circular cutouts positioned near one end. The narrower section tapers to a single concave curve at its terminal end. No specific text or markings are visible on the object itself. The item is presented within a plain, light-colored textile wrapper, which bears the handwritten number “4095327” in black ink. Fainter, partially legible markings, including what appears to be a stylized symbol, the numbers “2048”, and the letters “AL”, are also visible on the cloth.
