A Wick-Werke German salt-glazed stoneware wine pitcher. It features a traditional German style with a grey body and cobalt blue relief decoration. The ornamentation depicts grapevines and two putti-like figures, one holding a bunch of grapes. A raised band encircling the lower body prominently displays the German inscription ‘TRINKT WIE EURE VÄTER AUS,’ which translates to ‘DRINK AS YOUR FATHERS DID.’ The base exhibits a faint, stylized maker’s mark, possibly an ‘M’ or ‘W’.
