A pair of Chinese embroidered silk panels. The upper panel depicts a dynamic scene with a red sun, various birds including a colorful pheasant, and ducks amidst blossoming plum branches and water. It features Chinese calligraphy reading “关春報鸟” (Guān chūn bào niǎo), which translates to “Birds Announcing Spring.” The lower panel presents two peacocks perched on a blossoming branch. This panel includes Chinese calligraphy, “雅兰芬芳” (Yǎ lán fēn fāng), which translates to “Elegant Orchid Fragrance,” alongside a red seal mark. Both pieces utilize fine, multi-colored silk thread embroidery on a light-colored woven fabric ground, and are presented in metallic gold-tone frames.
Each frame measures approximately 42 cm wide x 25.5 cm high.
