A group of four polychrome-decorated glazed ceramic novelty teapots by Tony Wood Studio Staffordshire. Each teapot is molded as a seated male character in period-style dress. The figures include a scholar in a cap and gown holding a book, a gentleman in a tricorn hat with a quill, and two other gentlemen in similar hats holding various objects such as a flask or a stick. The teapots feature a cream-colored body with hand-painted details in shades of blue, brown, yellow, and black. No visible maker’s marks or text are discernible on the items.
