A Great Britain 20 Pounds Bank of England banknote, Pick number P-380b, signed by Chief Cashier D.H.F. Somerset, issued between 1981 and 1988. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the inscription “BANK OF ENGLAND”, “I PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF TWENTY POUNDS”, and the serial number “72E 174087”. Also depicted are Saint George slaying the Dragon. The reverse side features an image of William Shakespeare, identified with “1564-1616”, alongside a scene from one of his plays, and is also denominated as “TWENTY POUNDS”. The banknote is made of paper.
