A pair of large, round, metallic commemorative medallions, each inscribed with a ’25 EURO’ denomination, presented in a dark, velvet-lined display box. The first medallion, dated 1997, features an obverse depicting a cityscape beneath the Chinese and British flags, with the inscription “HONG KONG RETURNS TO CHINA”, “ENGLAND”, and the Chinese characters “香港” (Hong Kong). The second medallion, dated 2007, features an obverse with a prominent red dragon design, inscribed “HONG KONG AND CHINA”, “UNITED”, “KINGDOM”, and “香港” (Hong Kong). Both medallions share a reverse design depicting a relief of St. George on horseback slaying a dragon, with the inscription “ST. GEORGE AND THE DRAGON”. A smaller, bi-metallic coin, dated 2006 and bearing the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, consistent with a British pound coin, is included for scale.
