A pair of Bank of England Elizabeth II banknotes. The first is a Ten Pounds denomination, identified as P-376a, issued ND (1964-66). Its obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with text “BANK OF ENGLAND,” “I Promise to pay the Bearer on Demand the Sum of TEN Pounds,” “LONDON,” and a serial number “A43 170964.” The reverse depicts a stylized lion holding a key, marked “BANK OF ENGLAND” and “TEN POUNDS.” The second note is a One Pound denomination, identified as Series C, issued 1966-70, with J. S. Fforde as Chief Cashier. Its obverse also features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with text “BANK OF ENGLAND,” “I Promise to pay the Bearer on Demand the Sum of ONE Pound,” “LONDON,” and a serial number “J97Z 256876.” The reverse shows a seated Britannia figure with a shield and spear, marked “BANK OF ENGLAND” and “ONE POUND.” Both notes are printed on paper and are housed in clear plastic protective sleeves within a multi-pocket binder page.
