A modern commemorative coin from Nauru, dated 1994, depicting Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother inspecting bombed Buckingham Palace. The obverse features an image of two figures, identified as Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) and a male companion, inspecting a bombed building. Inscriptions around and below the central image read “QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER INSPECTING BOMBED BUCKINGHAM PALACE”, “1940”, and “10 DOLLARS”. The reverse displays a national crest or emblem, flanked by two figures, with “BANK OF NAURU” above and “1994” below, and the motto “GOD’S WILL FIRST” within the crest. The coin is made of a silver-toned metal and is encapsulated in a clear plastic protective case.
