An Airguide Mahogany Banjo Style Barometer Weather Station, a vintage banjo-shaped aneroid barometer and thermometer combination. Crafted from polished dark wood, likely mahogany, it features decorative light wood inlay in a fan motif at the top and base, and stylized shell or leaf forms flanking the thermometer. The mercury or alcohol thermometer, displaying a reddish-purple liquid, shows Fahrenheit readings from 30 to 110, marked with older terms such as “Blood Heat,” “Sumr Heat” (Summer Heat), “Temperate,” and “Freezing.” The lower circular aneroid barometer, set within a brass bezel, indicates atmospheric pressure from 26 to 31 and is inscribed with weather conditions: “STORMY,” “RAIN,” “CHANGE,” “FAIR,” and “VERY DRY,” along with the designation “Aneroid Barometer” and “MADE IN ENGLAND.”
