This religious sculptural tableau, cast from a patinated bronze or similar metal, depicts two figures on an integral base. A taller, standing figure, identified as the Virgin Mary, is draped in robes with hands clasped in prayer and a rosary, elevated on a rocky base. Facing her and kneeling, a smaller robed figure, a supplicant, holds what appears to be a taper. A plaque on the rectangular base is inscribed “LE MIRACLE DU CIERGE” (The Miracle of the Candle/Taper) and potentially signed “P. R. Sinischs”. The piece exhibits a warm, dark brown patina.
