Lot 155:
Description
A Chinese porcelain lidded ginger jar featuring a rounded body and a domed lid. Its decorative style is distinctly Asian, characterized by a vibrant enamel palette. The jar and lid are extensively decorated with intricate turquoise scrollwork, accented by yellow, red, green, and pink hues. The body includes white, cloud-shaped cartouches, one of which prominently displays a green bird above a blossoming red floral plant with green foliage. A multi-colored decorative band, featuring yellow geometric elements and blue/red motifs, encircles the base. On the lid, a stylized Chinese character, identifiable as ‘Shou’ (寿 – longevity), is integrated into the turquoise scrollwork alongside a pink floral detail.
