This lot comprises eight decorative and utilitarian metal tins, generally exhibiting an early-to-mid 20th-century aesthetic with one possibly more contemporary piece. Key items include a rectangular Art Nouveau-style embossed tin with figures under a tree, marked “FARRAH’S HARROGATE ENGLAND”; a black Chinoiserie-decorated hinged tin with a pastoral scene, inscribed “C.W.S CREAM CRACKERS CRUMPSALL – CARDIFF” on the interior lid; and a reddish-orange rectangular tin featuring a central bird motif surrounded by floral elements. Also present is a blue painted “THRIFT BOX” with labeled slots for “RENT, COAL, GAS, ELECTRICITY,” a small green “Rexall THROAT PASTILLES” tin detailing its manufacturer as “UNITED-REXALL DRUG CO., LTD., NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND,” a heavily worn cylindrical tin for “CARBORUNDUM” abrasive compound, a small octagonal black tin with floral sprays, and a more modern round tin decorated with a “Swallowtail” butterfly and pink flowers, from “The Countryside Collection.”
The Farrah’s tin measures approximately 18 cm long. The C.W.S. tin measures approximately 22 cm long. The Carborundum tin measures approximately 8 cm high.
