Antiques, Silver & Gold (14% Buyers Commission)
This substantial lot comprises approximately 1400 postcards and numerous assorted paper documents, dating from the late 19th and early 20th century. The collection is housed within a blue plastic crate. The lower section of the crate contains two significant stacks of postcards, while the upper section holds multiple bundles of folded paper documents, secured with rubber bands or paper strips, some bearing partial English text such as “about” and “inc.” The postcards display a variety of landscape and architectural views, including identifiable English place names like “Parliament Square,” “CULBONE CHURCH, MINEHEAD, PORLOCK,” and “BOURNE MOUTH.” The imagery encompasses monochrome, sepia-toned, hand-colored, and colorized photographs. The postcards are composed of cardstock.
