Lot 134: A Pair of African Hand Carved Ebony Wood Figures
Not sold
A pair of African hand carved ebony wood figures, each depicting a stylized male in a crouching position, holding a tubular object to his mouth. Executed in an ethnographic art style, the figures feature exaggerated facial characteristics, textured hair, and an intricate scale-like or woven pattern adorning their lower bodies. Crafted from a dark, dense wood, no visible text or maker’s marks are discernible.
