Lot 128: A Vintage African Ironwood Hand Carved Tribal Head Bust

A vintage African ironwood hand carved tribal head bust. This dark reddish-brown carved wooden bust depicts a human head with a naturalistic facial structure, almond-shaped eyes, and highly textured, stylized hair intricately carved to resemble braids or cornrows. Carved ear ornaments, possibly representing earrings, are visible on both ears. The piece is formed from a single piece of wood, displaying a prominent grain, and rests on an integrated, flared circular base. No discernible text or markings are visible.
