Lot 74: Three Antique Wood Hand Planes, including two Sargent & Co US Coffin Planes
Not sold
A collection of three antique or vintage wooden-bodied hand planes. This group includes two ‘coffin’ style block planes, consistent with examples attributed to Sargent & Co US in market research. The third, larger plane is a bench-style plane with a distinct shaped handle. It bears a partially legible label on its side, appearing to read “MARPles,” suggesting a possible manufacturer. Each tool is crafted from hardwood, incorporating metal irons secured by wooden wedges.
