Lot 58: A Shelley Art Deco 'Kingfisher' Octagonal Orange Bowl

A Shelley Art Deco ‘Kingfisher’ octagonal bowl, crafted from glazed ceramic, likely fine bone china. The bowl features a vibrant orange exterior adorned with stylized green and black crane motifs on each facet, characteristic of the ‘Kingfisher’ pattern. The rim is decorated with a black band containing geometric and floral patterns in gold tones. The underside clearly displays the manufacturer’s mark “MADE IN SHELLEY ENGLAND” within an oval logo, along with the handwritten pattern number “6355” or “63551”. The design aesthetic suggests an Art Deco or Chinoiserie influence, dating the piece likely to the early 20th century.
