A Makonde African Ebony Wood Tree of Life Sculpture, carved from dense, dark wood. The sculpture depicts multiple human figures stacked vertically in a totemic-like arrangement. The topmost figure features a textured coiffure or headdress and a ruffled collar. Several smaller, intricately interlocked figures are carved below it, forming the body of the pillar. The wood exhibits a visible grain, particularly on the rough-cut base. There are no visible inscriptions or maker’s marks.
