A pair of Elizabeth I silver hammered half groats. Each coin features an obverse with a crowned bust in profile, encircled by the partially legible Latin legend “ELIZABETH.D.G.ANG.FR.ET.HIB.REGI.” (Elizabeth, By the Grace of God, Queen of England, France, and Ireland). The reverse displays a quartered shield bearing royal armorial devices, framed by the Latin motto “POSVI.DEVM.ADIVTOREM.MEVM.” (I have made God my helper). Both coins exhibit irregular flans, characteristic of the early modern period.
