The composition depicts a complex allegorical scene dominated by a floating, haloed, draped figure resembling Jesus Christ, set against a banner-like sail. In the foreground, a classical-style male figure holding a staff interacts with a small boat featuring a prominent cross-shaped mast, while other draped and nude figures populate a desolate, ethereal landscape or seascape.
