An antique shield-shaped pendant or fob, crafted from sterling silver with an ornate, openwork border of foliate scrolls. The central escutcheon, in a contrasting warmer-toned metal, possibly gold or gold-plated, is engraved with the initials “N.S.F.A.” and two triangular motifs. The reverse displays a cluster of clear hallmarks at the bottom, including a lion passant, an anchor, and a lowercase ‘s’ date letter, confirming it as sterling silver, assayed in Birmingham, and dated to 1917.
