A cased pair of English sterling silver and cut glass open salts, accompanied by two sterling silver salt spoons. The salts feature clear, geometrically cut glass bodies with applied sterling silver rims. The accompanying spoons are entirely crafted from sterling silver. The set is presented in a fitted black leatherette exterior case with a blue satin-lined lid and blue velvet interior. The case lid is marked “Hall Marked Silver Made in England.” Visible hallmarks on the silver rims of the salts and more clearly on the spoon handles include a maker’s mark ‘B & J’, a lion passant (confirming sterling silver), an anchor (indicating the Birmingham assay office), and a date letter ‘s’.
