This lot comprises a miniature grand piano trinket box and a matching stool, crafted from 925 sterling silver with a distinctive hammered finish and rope-twist borders. The piano’s hinged lid and the stool’s seat are set with translucent, variegated amber-toned material, identified as Baltic amber, which exhibits natural inclusions. The underside of both pieces bears ‘925’ hallmarks for sterling silver and an ‘SP’ maker’s mark within a shield-like cartouche, consistent with German antique silverwork featuring Baltic amber. The miniature grand piano features a detailed keyboard and elegant turned legs. The hinged lid opens to reveal a compartment suitable for small keepsakes or rings.
