A 2008 Royal Mint United Kingdom Brilliant Uncirculated 9-Coin Set, identified as the ‘Emblems of Britain’ collection. The set is presented in its original black cardboard packaging with a central circular window, displaying a collection of eight modern British coin denominations, comprising nine physical coins. These include 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p (featuring a lion design), a £1 coin, and two distinct £2 coins. One £2 coin commemorates the London Olympiad Centenary (1908-2008), and the other features the inscription “STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS” on its edge. The packaging prominently displays “The Royal Mint” logo, a Union Flag, and the year “2008,” along with the title “United Kingdom Brilliant Uncirculated Coin Collection.” The reverse of the packaging provides detailed specifications for each coin, including material compositions (cupro-nickel, copper-plated steel, nickel-brass), weights, diameters, and designers. The £1 coin’s edge bears the Latin inscription “DECUS ET TUTAMEN,” which is translated on the packaging as “An ornament and a safeguard.” The set has an issue limit of 250,000.
