General Sale - 1st September 2025
A group of four British commemorative Two Pound coins, comprising two examples dated 1986 featuring a Scottish thistle design on the obverse, and two examples dated 1989 commemorating the “TERCENTENARY OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS” with the dates “1689 1989” and a crowned “W & M” monogram on the obverse. All coins feature a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the reverse, encircled by the inscription “ELIZABETH II D.G. REG. F.D.” and the denomination “TWO POUNDS”. Two coins display a silvery-grey tone, consistent with cupro-nickel composition, while the remaining two exhibit a golden-yellow tone, consistent with nickel-brass composition.
