A Japanese Satsuma Moriage Geisha Tea Set, comprising a teapot, lidded sugar bowl, creamer, and several teacups with accompanying saucers. The ceramic pieces are executed in a Japanese Satsuma ware style, featuring a dark brown, textured ground decorated with rich polychrome enamel paints and extensive gilt detailing. The primary motif on all items depicts a central serene female figure, identified as a Geisha, with a halo, flanked by two male figures, all rendered in traditional Japanese garments. A red mark on the base, partially visible on the underside of a cup, clearly displays the Japanese characters 薩摩 (Satsuma), identifying its origin or style as a type of Japanese pottery. The overall style and decoration suggest a late 19th to early 20th-century production.
