A Japanese Dragonware Moriage Demitasse Tea and Coffee Set, dating from the early to mid-20th century. This comprehensive porcelain set comprises multiple cups, saucers, side plates, a lidded teapot, a creamer, and a lidded sugar bowl. Each piece is adorned with extensive hand-painted, raised enamel (Moriage style) decoration featuring a stylized dragon rendered in shades of black, grey, gold, white, light blue, and pink, set against a dark grey to lighter grey ombre background. Gold gilding accents the rims and handles. Notably, the bottom of the teacups reveals a lithophane depicting the bust of a woman with an elaborate coiffure when held to light. No manufacturer’s marks or textual inscriptions are visible.
