A two-piece East German DDR Collective of Socialist Work award, comprising a main medal and an accompanying ribbon bar. The main medal, crafted from a copper or bronze-toned metal, is square with flared corners and features radiating lines from a central red enamel disc. This disc is emblazoned with a gold socialist emblem depicting a hammer, compass, and wheat, surrounded by the German inscription “KOLLEKTIV DER SOZIALISTISCHEN ARBEIT” (Collective of Socialist Labor) and “FÜR STETS BEREITE” (For Always Ready). The reverse of the medal is inscribed with “SOZIALISTISCH ARBEITEN LERNEN UND LEBEN” (To work, learn, and live in a socialist way). The smaller, rectangular ribbon bar, set in a gold-colored frame and covered with clear resin, features a red ribbon with gold stripes and a central emblem matching the main medal. Both components are fitted with a shared pin-back fastening mechanism on the reverse.
