A Victorian ceramic biscuit barrel by Crescent S&Sons, England. The lidded jar features a pale blue, fluted lower body and a white upper band decorated with vertical black stripes and a garland of pink roses with green foliage. It stands on a matching scalloped white foot. The lid is metal, likely silver-plated or pewter, topped with a finial and an arched metal carrying handle. The underside bears a purple stamp reading ‘CRESCENT S&SONS ENGLAND’ beneath a crown motif. Visually similar examples from the period are sometimes attributed to George Jones.
