This lot comprises a pair of watercolour paintings by W. H. Simpson, each depicting a winter landscape scene. Rendered on paper, each artwork is matted in a cream tone and set under glass within a dark wood frame featuring a gold-tone inner fillet. The left painting illustrates a snow-covered field with bare trees and a wooden fence under a moonlit sky, signed ‘W. H. Simpson’ and dated ‘1976’ in red script. The right painting features a snow-covered building with a prominent bare tree and a stone wall, also signed ‘W. H. Simpson’ and dated ‘1986’ in red script.
