An Edwardian style mahogany banjo barometer, featuring an aneroid barometer and a thermometer mounted on a shaped, dark wooden backboard. The backboard is adorned with two sailing ship vignettes and two sunburst-like carved or applied motifs. The lower circular aneroid barometer features a white dial with a brass bezel, displaying atmospheric pressure from 26 to 31 inches and labeled with “STORM,” “RAIN,” “CHANGE,” “FAIR,” and “VERY DRY,” explicitly marked “Aneroid Barometer” at its base. Above this, a vertical mercury (or red-fluid) thermometer measures temperatures from approximately 0 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
