A pair of Royal Selangor ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ pewter and wood music boxes. These matching contemporary musical boxes feature silver-toned pewter dome lids, each topped with a relief-moulded teddy bear holding a horn. The lids are hinged to a round, polished light-brown wooden body with a lower band of embossed pewter, depicting a continuous scene of teddy bears playing various musical instruments amidst foliage. The interiors are lined with dark felt, and small musical mechanisms are visible on the underside of each lid. Visible text on the inside of the lids reads: “Please do not overwind” and “(Exclusively for San Francisco Music Box Co.)”.
