General Sale - 1st September 2025
A collection of approximately two dozen contemporary Royal Mail First Day Covers, primarily dating from the 2010s to the early 2020s, with visible dates spanning 2013 to 2024. Each cover features themed commemorative stamps and official first-day postmarks. Many display either Queen Elizabeth II or King Charles III definitive stamps. The diverse themes represented include “The FA Cup,” “Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games,” “Rugby Union,” “Christmas 2023,” “Windrush 75 Years” (1948-2023), “Classic Science Fiction,” “Terry Pratchett’s Discworld,” “The Stamp Designs of David Gentleman,” and “United Kingdom A Celebration” featuring rainbow/LGBTQ+ motifs. Made of paper and ink, many are presented in clear plastic protective sleeves. Several covers are addressed to Mrs. Susan Lane in Pontefract.
