A collection of six English sterling silver condiment shakers, comprising five lidded pepper pots or casters with perforated tops and one open vase-shaped salt cellar. The pieces exhibit a variety of traditional forms, including ovoid and waisted bodies with domed or pointed finials, and an octagonal pedestal form, with several pieces resting on decorative feet. One octagonal shaker bears hallmarks for London assay, a lion passant, and the date letter ‘S’ in a shield, corresponding to the year 1933-1934. Another rounded shaker displays the maker’s mark ‘MNWE’, a lion passant, a crowned leopard’s head for London assay, and the date letter ‘M’ in a shield, corresponding to the year 1927-1928, aligning with a white tag marked ‘1927’ on the item.
