A pair of commemorative medallions produced by The Tower Mint. The first medallion commemorates the 1981 Charles & Diana St. Paul’s Cathedral event, depicting St. Paul’s Cathedral and inscribed “ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL LONDON” and “SOLID NICKEL SILVER,” with a stylized ‘D’ within a crest. The second medallion commemorates the Metropolitan Police 1829-1979 Anniversary, depicting two uniformed figures and a coat of arms, and includes a purple ribbon. Its box lid is marked “METROPOLITAN POLICE 1829-1979,” “THE TOWER MINT,” “ROYAL MINT SCHEME LONDON,” and “SOLID NICKEL SILVER Limited Edition.” Both medallions are presented in hinged dark blue boxes with cream fabric interior linings.
