General Sale - 1st September 2025
A lidded ceramic jar, likely porcelain, featuring extensive polychrome enamel decoration and gilding. The ovoid body and domed lid are adorned with panels depicting figures, possibly court ladies, in an ornate setting, alongside intricate floral, foliage, and geometric patterns executed with raised white enamel dots and heavy gold accents. A fine, intentional crackled glaze is visible throughout the surface, including the base. The finial of the lid is gold-toned. The underside of the base bears a red square seal mark with four Chinese characters, reading “中國製造” (Zhōngguó zhìzào), which translates to “Made in China.”
